Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Strata9 Inc. ("Strata9", "we") collects through Strata9 Rentals at strata9.rentals ("the service"), and how it is used and shared. Your account also works on Strata9 Exchange at strata9.exchange, which has its own privacy policy.

1. What we collect

Account: your email address and password.
Requests: your name, company, phone, email, the items you ask for, needed-by date, rental length, shore base, lease block or site location, and notes.
Rental companies: the name, title, phone, email, website and notes given when a company signs up or claims its page; company, yard and equipment details; rates, availability and certifications; photos; and replies and holds on requests.
Support: what you send us when you contact us.
Technical data: our hosting and database providers keep standard logs of requests to their servers, such as IP address, browser type and time.

Strata9 Rentals does not use advertising or analytics trackers.

2. Public business information

Strata9 builds some company pages from publicly available business information: the company name, yard address and phone, and the equipment it advertises. A company can ask support@strata9.rentals to claim, correct or remove its page.

3. What your browser stores

Your sign-in, so you stay signed in (local storage).
An unfinished request or company sign-up while you sign in, so you do not have to type it again (session storage, cleared when you close the tab).
Our host's bot check may set a cookie when you visit.

Fonts load from Google Fonts and the sign-in library loads from jsDelivr. Those services receive your IP address when your browser loads them.

4. How we use it

To run Strata9 Rentals and your account.
To send each request to the companies you choose.
To review and confirm rental companies, including by phone.
To send account and service emails, such as confirming your email, resetting your password, and a company's review and approval.
To prevent abuse, keep the site secure and comply with the law.

We do not send marketing email without your consent.

The public: company pages, yards, equipment, rates, availability, certifications, photos and the yard phone number. The contact details and notes a company gives when it signs up or claims its page are not published.
Companies you send a request to: each one sees your contact details, the request details and the items at its yard.
Buyers: a buyer sees the replies and holds on their own requests.
Service providers that work for us (see the next section).
Legal and safety: when the law requires it, or to protect people, property or the site.
Business transfer: if Strata9 is part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Strata9 does not sell personal information.

6. Our service providers

SiteGround: hosts the site. Its bot check may set a cookie.
Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage.
Resend: email delivery.

7. How long we keep it

We keep information while your account is active and as long as needed to run the service, then for a reasonable period for legal, tax, accounting and dispute needs. Sent requests are kept as a record for the buyer and the companies they went to. If you delete your account, requests you already sent stay with the companies that received them.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information (portability), and to object to or restrict certain processing.
To make a request, or to close your account, email privacy@strata9.exchange. Some information may be kept where the law requires it.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision at privacy@strata9.exchange and asking for an appeal.
Rental companies can edit their company, yard, equipment and photos in the company console. You can change your password on your account page.
We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls on stored data. No method is perfectly secure.

10. Children

Strata9 Rentals is for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children and will delete it if we learn of it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date above changes when we do, and material changes come with additional notice.
